Treatment plant wastewater Curubamba is inaugurated in Sacaba

The municipality of Sacaba and has a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the area of Curubamba Alta. The WWTP is possible thanks to the efforts of the Municipal Water and Sanitation Sacaba (EMAPAS).

It will be inaugurated on Saturday June 4 with the presence of municipal authorities, local leaders and representatives of the AGUATUYA Foundation, responsible for the design and construction of the wastewater treatment plant.

Curubamba sector is located near the banks of the river Maylancu, which is then transformed into the Rocha River. Both rivers are constantly being polluted because they are discharged into wastewater untreated.

The wastewater treatment plant will be managed by EMAPAS, this plant will help to prevent contamination, because the water will be properly treated. High Curubamba WWTP is designed to treat wastewater to a level that allows its reuse in watering plants and tall stalk of green areas and forestation. It has a capacity to treat wastewater from 2,300 and is built on a total area of 790 square meters.

The technology used is a friendly technology environment, based on a fully automated pretreatment, upflow anaerobic biorectores that decompose organic matter, artificial wetlands of subsurface type of pathogens and disinfection by chlorination.
